Information Section: Overview

TCG is short for Trading Card Game, and it is precisely what it says it is. You earn and collect cards, and you trade your unwanted cards for cards that you want/need with fellow TCGers. The main difference between an online TCG like this one and traditional TCGs (meaning TCGs where you actually have real cards that you buy for prices that can burn a hole in your pocket) is that the "cards" are actually nifty little images that you earn through playing games and participating in activites - and for free, too!

Aesthetic Visions (or AV for short) is a TCG devoted to visual arts and artists. That means our cards, activities, and games focus on visual arts such as painting, drawing, and sculpture from different cultures and eras. I'm aware that other disciplines, such as dancing and acting, are also included in visual arts, but for the sake of narrowing down the already broad theme, I decided not to include those for the time being. They might appear in special decks in the future, but I'm not promising anything just yet.

Games and Activities
Cards and currency are earned through playing games and participating in activities in the TCG. AV has three divisions of games/activities: bi-weekly, monthly, and on-going. Under these divisions are a variety of games, ranging from puzzle games to trivia games and auctions. As you may have noticed it is much slower-paced TCG compared to a lot of others out there, primarily because this is my first TCG ever and Riese and I are intent on operating it efficiently even if it means sacrificing update speed. We're pretty much quality over quantity here!

Mastering Decks
When you have managed to collect all the cards in a deck, that means that you have "mastered" that deck. Upon mastering a deck, you should post in the Mastery section of the forums to get your reward.

Member Levels
As is common with most TCGs, member ranking system is based on the total worth of cards a member has.

Member levels and their card worth equivalents are as follows:

Level Card Worth
1 0-50
2 51-120
3 121-220
4 221-310
5 311-420
6 421-550
7 550-690
8 690-850
9 851-1000
10 1000-

Members who reach level 10 cannot level up any further, but may still turn in a level up form to receive cards whenever they increase their card count by 200. To increase your level and receive your prizes, you must post at the Level Up section of the forums.

Currency
Aside from earning cards, members can also earn aviols and gems through playing games and participating in activities. Aviols and gems can be used to purchase cards and other things at the AV Souvenir Shop.

Aviols are the coins shown above. Each aviol has a number on it, which indicates its numerical value. ! blue gem can be used to buy a random normal/puzzle card, an orange gem can be used to buy a random special card, a green gem can be used to buy one choice normal/puzzle card, and a red gem can be used to buy one choice special card.

Artisan Guilds
Upon joining AV, members are asked to choose a number, and this number represents one of the three Artisan Guilds. This means that members will be drafted into one of the Artisan Guilds depending on the number they choose (this is done to avoid having too many or too few members in a single guild). These guilds compete with one another at the monthly Art Festival through performing various tasks per month and adding up the total number of guild points each guild has accumulated for that month."

For further information on guilds, please visit the Guilds section of the site.
